Wisdom is the ability to use knowledge. Knowledge is gained by
reading or listening or some combination of both.

Wisdom is learned by using your knowledge. It's a vicious circle.

To Answer the first question: "What is life without passion?"
The answer is nothing.

"What do we live for in life?" I can only speak for myself on this.
I live to make movies. I make movies to live.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and have a nice day.

Thank you very much, while you're up!!

well, if it were me, i'd say that wisdom is gained through experience. and i'd use John Gardner's Grendel to back it up. In that novel, Grendel observes humans for a great deal of time and gains knowledge about their lives, but he gains wisdom, i suppose, after visiting the dragon (and getting insight into the world of existentialism) and then contacting the humans personally. The way they mindlessly attack him gives him a lot more insight into their way of thinking thank all the eavesdropping in the world.

ALso, what is life without passion, i'd say you could use Shakespeare's The Tempest or Marlowe's The Jew of Malta (note, i haven't finished Jew of Malta). In Tempest, Prospero, who doesn't partake in any passionate escapades still ends up perfectly happy, fueled by a vendetta and then by his own personal desires. In The Jew of Malta, Barabas is also fueled by a vendetta because all of his money is taken away unlawfully, and he seems to have a purpose, does he not?
THerefore, what do we live for in life? Progress. If that progress seems to stem from a passionate relationship, so be it. If it seems to stem from your professional ambitions, so be it. If it stems from your venturous hobbies, so be it. ...
that's all i have to say about that

Geez, and you need someone to tell you how to live your life?!

That definitely is NOT passion.

Guess you are going to flunk your wisdom test.

And a well deserved flunk it will be.

Science is proven wrong many times in a decade. Science depends on wisdom to make its case yet it tends to follow folly and find it in mistakes. Through these mistakes man finds that there is a higher purpose involved. This does not mean Science is not useful but wisdom does not proceed from it. It is only a tool.
