Although I agree with you, and that there is a problem with the system, Yahoo is responsible for all the content on their domains, and they do have to protect themselves. They can't possibly police all this content, so they rely on the user-base to help them. What is a definite problem, however, is abuse of the report abuse feature.

It would only be a violation of the 1st amendment if the gov't imprisons you. Yahoo is not a national gov't. They are a private business. As such they have the right to run it as they see fit.
And for a company who kowtows to chinese censorship demands, what the hell would you expect anyway?

There are a number of questions and answers that do deserve to be reported, Vulgarity, insults and other things that Yahoo doesn't allow. When people report because someone has a different political affiliation or they just do not like the response then they should have there account terminated**

Yahoo is a private company and can do what they want. I don't want government control or the internet cops raiding their corporate offices just because someone's comment or question was deleted. Keep the government out of our lives - like the old saying says, "He's your uncle, not your dad!" (referring to Uncle Sam)

There are a lot of divorced conservative women with 3-5 kids, and they will report you like swatting flies, they are the ones that wants other people to raise their kids, always see them lookin for another man to raise some other guys kids. I would recommend they use some type of filtering software, like Net Nanny, but then that would prevent them from surfing the personal love dating sites on their man hunting quest

Sorry, honey...your ignorance is showing. Freedom of speech means you can say what you want without getting arrested (short of yelling "fire" in a movie theater, etc.). Freedom of speech does NOT mean we have to listen to you and that you can say it wherever and whenever you want. Deal with it.

there is freedom of speech but if you said "I am going to kill the President" how well do you that that would go over".. Speech is free but is limited speech..there are kids on this site..they will hear enough racism in their life..they don't need to log on here and see cursing and racists remarks and hatred...especially if it's about their kind (blacks, etc.)..that could cause irreversible self esteem issues. I know..
