Trying to find 4x4 automatic locks for my front tires but i dont know the actual name for the locks? I got a 2000 tahoe Z71 need to new locks.

that unit has an axle lock on the right hand end of the diff housing,there is an electric actuator on it that heats a gas to push a piston to lock in the axle ,it should be independant front suspnsion unless some one has installed a solid front axle in it

Free wheeling hubs or lock out hubs.

i own a shop,and around here we call them lock outs ,or locking hubs,,but most shops refer to them as lock-out hubs,this is what we say when ordering parts for them,,good luck,hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.

Leave it, there are NO lockous available for that style hub.
