Update and run your Anti-Virus program. Don't have one? You can run a free online scan from Trendmicro. When I have tested it it takes some time to run it but it may be time well spent if it can fix any problems.
Download and run http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
Download, update and run Spybot---http://www.safer-networking.org/ . Don't forget to use the Immunize feature.
Download, update and run Adaware---http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/products/select_your_product.php
If those scan can not fix it try Hijackthis.
Download HijackThis---http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php#hijackthis. Run and Save a Log. When you log comes up copy and paste the entire log at http://www.hijackthis.de/ . Analyze your results. You will then get a screen that will tell you if you have any nasty stuff in your computer. Follow instructions to deal with any nasties. CAUTION: This is a very powerful tool. Be careful.

Hi,
I know that there r so many replies but the only way to remove a virus is a very time consuming and higly tedious.
I would highly recommend u to format ur hard disk and install a fresh copy of windows xp because that is the fastest way of getting rid of it. You can trust me coz i have once removed a virus via online guidance from forums.us.dell.com and it took me 2 - 3 days to remove it.
Finally, i would again like to tell u that it is better to format ur pc rather than looking for the needle in the hay.
Hope that helps.

Do an anti virus scan in safe mode and check out the list of security freeware on my blog.
You may need to switch off System Restore as back up files will be hiding in there, and it will just restore itself. Go to Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore.
Run your anti virus and anti spyware in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode repeatedly press the F8 key after the bios screen loads but before Windows loads. You'll know if you made it because the screen will be at 800 x 600 and your pc will be slow.
You need to install one anti virus;
http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/ -AVG anti virus or

I hate to assume that you have an antivirus application that has current virus definitions but...
Using Internet Explorer, visit the site below which will scan your PC for known viruses.
http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/default.asp?langid=ie&venid=sym
The following site may also be helpful.

I would also suggest downloading and installing AVG 7.5 Free edition.
