The hinge (I think) of the driver side door of my Hyundai Elantra broke. I really have no idea if its hinge or something else. Its the part that connects door to car.
Is it ok do drive it for couple of days. I plan to get it repaired soon.
Also how much is the approx cost going to be. My car is 2000 Hyundai Elantra sedan.

It's as safe as a jeep with the doors removed, and safer than riding a motorcycle.

The pain in the rear is operating the door with the broken hinge. If you're getting in and out by yourself with no help, it's not a broken hinge. Do you mean on the other end - the striker and hasp that keep the doors shut against the car?

i own a shop, and if its a hinge ,it will be really hard to open up,,if its the lever that keeps it from opening up to far it wont hurt anything,,the hinge for it will cost around 70 bucks if its broken,,and around 40 labor to install ,and align it back up,,you need to make sure which part it is first,,but that's about the worse that it could or should cost you on this job,,good luck with it,i hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.
