Well, I don't know of anyone who met on Yahoo, but I heard of stories of friends of friends, meeting and getting married, and so far everyone is happy.
There are some bad stories also. Internet is not a solution to dating its just another option, but many people, including girls, have a negative opinion about the internet.
To all the girls ----> you can meet a psycho in a bar too, and not realize it, until you give him your number!!!

I think the potential to meet someone may be better on an internet site than in a bar. Because in a bar, its all about the looks, and most women (that I observed, not most women in general), who go to a bar don't even want to be approached by guys. I have this opinion based on my own experience of approaching girls, and what I hear from guys, and even girls. If a guy is really good looking, then he has a chance.

A lot of girls go out to "have fun". That means that they are open to a guy approaching them (and that's how the girls have fun), but unless he is very good looking, or has money, or feeds them a line they never heard of before, a lot of times, they won't give him a chance.
I used to live in New York, and my opinion is based on that area.
Also, in New York, most women are very suspicious of a guy approaching them, because of all the sories of rape and murder, etc., you hear on the news.
At least on the internet, you have a chance to really get to know someone on a deep level, by talking ot them first online, and seeing their picture. Meeting them comes second. At the bar, everyone is already at the second level.

Yes, My wife and I found each other when the internet was first beginning. We married 5 months later and have had a wonderful marriage of very many years together. I'm no expert nor do i know who was the first couple to do this, but, I'm guessing my wife and i were probably among the very first who ventured down this romance road on the internet.

Yep. Two of my friends met their significant others from online chat. I met the hottest man ever too. But I think mine won't work out--he's way too goodlooking to not have like a million women after him. Sigh.
