I think it's popular among younger audiences who are largely inexperienced viewers. I can see how people compare it to Dragonball/Z/GT. That's the series that got me into anime. I think Naruto is this generation's gateway into anime and manga. Personally, I don't like Naruto. I tried watching twice and couldn't get trough an entire episode because the characters annoyed me, and it seems to be a really bad dub. I've been told to watch it subbed and I'd like it more, but I'm not so sure. (Gotta love Netflix. I don't like it, I just send it back.) The Naruto fanfare will fall off eventually, I can pretty much guarantee it. These fans will grow up and move on to more sophisticated fare. I still love DBZ (etc), but I have also broadened my anime horizons dramatically. I think Naruto fans will do the same.

In my opinion though, Dragonball/Z/GT is SO much better than Naruto, and the Reikai Tentei (of YYH) could waste the characters of Naruto with their eyes closed.

Far be it from me to be a biased fangirl. ~_^

I'm fairly into Naruto. Well the manga that is. I havent seen much of the anime and what I have seen is on Cartoon Network and the English dubbed version is horrible.. I cant stand the voices, Naruto's especially. The second arc of the manga/anime is alot better than the first. It gets more depth and is less like a series little boys get obsessed over.

There are heaps of other anime series on TV.. I think there's even a whole channel devoted to it in some places.

Naruto is built the same as Dragon ball.
You grow up with the Character. Both come from dark past one sent to earth to destroy it, the other a demon lives in him. Both can transform. There since of innocence and justice.

Its not the only thing on you can always watch Pokemon :)
kidding kidding

I myself enjoy BLEACH

Allot of my favorites only were short lived
Outlaw Star
Full Metal Alcamist
Hellsing
Grenadier
If want to watch anime you may have to just go online unless you get the all anime channel on Cable.

To be honest Dragon Ball is still in my Top 5 I only wish GT was longer

LOL!!!!!! Well if Naruto is the great show ever, (opinion), people like me! Would just spend our time and research it on the internet or ask other people what happen or read the manga. People do not really know what will ACTUALLY HAPPEN is just people will take the time and do some research when they are really bored. By the way, the only person EXACTLY who know that what will actually happen through the series is the creator/author. Masishi Kishimoto

Personally, Ive been asking myself this same question since last year? I dont see much good in Naruto. Its like Dragon Ball Z with a plotline (sorry, but its true). Am I suppost to sympathize with Naruto because some fox demon is in his body, laugh when he does a stupid prank, or get hyped when he's about to do some "ultimate fox attack"?
Am I suppost be be just another fangirl raving about Sasuke, or hate Sakura? All my friends talk about it and it makes me sick hearing "Naruto this..." and "I wish Sasuke was mine".
Personally, I like DBZ more because I loved Goku (although looking back, he reminded me of Kikyo from Inuyasha--always dying and comming back top life).
But my ALL TIME FAVORITE is Inuyasha! I know who to love (Inuyasha) who to hate (Kikyo) and the villian (Naraku) is such pure genius that no one can beat him. Inuyasha has been called "the girl verson of Dragon Ball Z" but its so much more because I sympathize with EVERY character, down to even Naraku's actions.
Now, I did try to watch Naruto twice. Really! I fell asleep halfway during one of the episodes of the dubbed verson on cartoonnetwork. So I thought, maybe I should watch the first episode of the subbed version. I did. It wasnt bad but didnt have as much power as the first episode of Inuyasha. Hey, I tried!

I think it's retarded... I mean, come on. A loud, obnoxious, brightly colored ninja? Umm no... There are other animes on TV. Personally I like Full Metal Alchemist, Inuyasha, and Ghost In A Shell: Stand Alone Complex (which all play consecutively on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim).

The manga is pretty popular as well though I never saw what the big hype was all about with Naruto. Bleach was pretty good though. I'm waiting for more Full Metal Alchemist!

they are psyched up about Naruto because they have no life and it's the newest and most popular anime show. they would like Naruto because the show has its own toys, TV show, comic book, and website.
