If the reddness is accompanied by flakey skin, you may have a chronic condition call seborrehic dermatitis. I have it & you can moisturize all you want. It will still flare up, especially during the colder months or if your'e under a lot of stress. My dermatologist gave me a mixture of Elidel cream & Nizoral cream. One is similar to hydrocortisone & the other is an antifungal. I've had no problems since then. You may use Cortisone or something like that & maybe some antifungal med like monistat to see if that helps. The only thing is cortisone meds will make your skin look old after prolonged use. You can also use a green based concealer to neutralize the reddness under your foundation. For foundation try the mineral foundations, my fave is Jane Iredale press foundation. Makes your skin flawless. It's pricey like Bare Essentials but Physician's Formula, Avon, & Neutragena also make it & is sold in drug stores or Wal-Mart. Good luck. Remeber if you have that condition there's no cure you just have to manage it. If you also have a problem with dandruff then chances are you have the dermatitis I'm speaking of. Do a google web search on sebborehic dermatitis (not 100% sure of spelling) & compare your symptoms with yours & take it from there. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
