I am assuming you have a low care kind of fish like a beta, gold fish or guppie (or something to that effect).

First fill the bowl with room temperature water (when the water feels cool but not cold to the touch, thats about room temp.)

Than sit the ag witht the fish in it inside the bowl so the temp of water in the bag can adjust to that of the bowl. (This will make sure you don't shock your fish)

Now I am gonna jump back for a second. Prior to letting the fish go in the new water, the water should be conditioned. This is done by going to either a pet store or walmart and finding it in the fish isle. (There is a product called aqua-safe but there are others) If you do not have this don't panic, your fish will be fine as long as you get some in the next day or two.

After the bag has sat in the bowl for about 20 minutes if should be pretty close to the same temp. (While the bags sits in the bowl you can open the top of it so air gets in) Now you can dump the entire bag (water and all) into the bowl.

Give the fish a few hours to adjust, I recommend feeding the fish about six hours after or even the next day. If the fish is stressed it won't eat and the food will make the toxin levels rise in the bowl which can harm your fish.

Add a plant or two and a few a toy and your fish should be happy.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays!

ouThe fish will last several hours in the bag, as is. If it is going to take you longer than that to have your bowl ready, put the bag and fish in a jar or glass or some other container that will support the bag. Then open the bag to let air in to the surface of the water. AS the other answerers have said, do not use soap or detergent on the bowl. If you have chlorine remover, fill your bowl about 2/3 full with water that is as close to the temp of the water in the bag as y can get it (just stick your finger in the water to check temp). Then float the bag and fish in the bowl for about 20 min. Then let your fish go. If you don't have chlorine remover, you will have to let your bowl set for 8 12 hours. By that time the water in it and in the bag will be at room temp and you will not have to float the bag before releasing your fish.
PS - I don't know what kind of fish you have, but a bowl is almost never a good idea

You should put water in a bowl and wait until it is room temp. This makes it so that the fish does not have a blast of cold or hot water. You can get a bowl or something and pore your fish and the water in it's bag into it and it will be Happy whale the water is preparing. then put what you want into the bowl and put the fish into it.

You can put the fish in the bowl anytime after you add chlorine remover. Good luck PS - Never use soap to clean the bowl. Rinse the bowl thoroughly and wipe with a clean paper towel.
