I've witnessed one before and I've been in one. Trust me, it's more scary to be in one than to see one. After I was in a car wreck a couple of years ago, I can't do a lot of things I used to. sports, dancing, etc.
The wreck that I witnessed was scary. I was only twelve and an 18 wheeler hit a man and his kids. The man was killed, but his kids were ok. I was so upset when it happened. They had to cover him with a sheet to keep people from seeing him, but I had already seen it, and I was really disturbed by it. No little kid should have seen that.

Many.
I used to live in an apt building on the busy corner of 3 streets that led to various on/off highway ramps. You'd hear crashes daily. It was a very poorly designed intersection and we notified the city traffic engineers but nothing was done.

Our 'safe' live's are so illusionary.Anyone who drive's for some year's witnesses, or is involved in car accidents. This really shakes you up when you realize it could be 'your turn' on your next car trip, with no fault of your own.

I saw a guy lose control and plow right into the front of a neighbor's house about midnight. I was really scared for them. The driver was fine, but the house was partially destroyed. It made a noise I will never forget, like a bomb going off.

I've been in a couple very scary. It's even scary seeing one, heart stops goosebumps and then a silent "hope noone is hurt too bad". VERY sad thing to see.

About a month ago, in the fog; there were 7 of us in a line behind a suburban on a 2 lane road; the guy behind me decided he was going to pass ALL of us. He didn't make it. He didn't have his headlights on, and the guy coming toward us in the other lane didn't either. It made a gawdawful noise and crap was flying everywhere. Funniest about it was, no one stopped. They didn't want to get hit in the mess. I did call 911 from my cell - but I wasn't about to stop my black car in a solid wall of fog and get out of it to help people too stupid to turn on their lights!

No, I was in one, but never witnessed one as an outsider. Just saw the aftermath of many.
