Feminine form of the Late Latin name Seraphinus, derived from the biblical word seraphim which was Hebrew in origin and meant "fiery ones". The seraphim were an order of angels, described by Isaiah in the Bible as having six wings each. This name was borne by saint Seraphina, a 5th-century martyr.

I had a turtle named Seraphina once. Pretty neat name, especially for a turtle.

I think its nice, and original. Seems like it should be spelled with an F though....Serafina....seraphina....I dunno I guess it doesn't matter. But yah its cute, and she can go by sera ((sarah)) but you run the risk of her name constantly being spelled wrong her entire life. That could get frustrating.

Very pretty name. It's biblical, like most names, derived from the saraphim, an order of angels. I like it.

I think it is old fashioned, but a beautiful name. I would use it for a baby girl.
