They'll never stop me from saying Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!

Pilgrims weren't against holidays. They were all for traditions. Particularly Thanksgiving which is a holliday.
Merry Christmas is simplified with the x, and has been this way for many years, it has nothing to do with taking away Christ in Christmas.
Atheists extremists are the reason Christmas is being downplayed. Saying they are offended is just an excuse to remove as much Christ as they can from Christmas so that they can control what is imposed on their own children. They are just trying to get America to a place where there is no public religion involved in the holidays and conflicting with what they believe in. Not to mention the separation of church and state, based on some letter that Jefferson wrote that had nothing to do with the foundation of our government and the documents that were written and signed by members of our governement at the time. The letter was not signed and approved by members of the government at that time.
I'd like to see people celebrate whatever they want when they want. And not care what other people celebrate. Most Americans have said Merry Christmas for many years. And most Americans have celebrated Christmas for many years. If you don't believe in the holiday don't participate in it. If atheism becomes the most widely held belief system in our country then that is what we will publicly celebrate, most likely.

Yes, I think that it is very dumb that we are being told to not wish others a Merry Christmas. I think that our strive for a politically correct nation has gone a little too far. I understand that not everyone is a Christian and may not have the same beliefs as you or I do, but this is getting to be a little ridiculous. I am not offended when someone says Happy Hanukkah or when Muslims celebrate Ramadan. I respect their beliefs. I think they should give us Christians the same respect and allow us to openly wish others a Merry Christmas! So.......Merry Christmas to you!

Just who are these people who are trying to not let you say merry Christmas? Do you hear them when you are alone? Do they send you secret messages on the radio? Do they go away when you wrap your head in aluminum foil?

Now go and have a happy Christmas and stop listen to morons like Bill Oh Really, you silly person!

i do . it is not only dumb, but it is also stupid and ignorant.
if want to say merry Christmas u should. this happy holidays stuff, which i do use, is for the politically correct.
the way i see it, if u know a person is christian u use merry Christmas and if u don't say happy holidays, I've been using both long before this politically correct garbage came around.
merry christmas and happy holidays to u and urs

Its not about taking offence, just some people dont celebrate christmas and if someone says something to them it is almost like a obligation to say something back. I dont celebrate christmas and I just tell them to have a good day and when I walk away I then think they might feel offended by me not saying it back. I dont think people should try to sew other people just because of that , it is totally ridiculious. I think people should just respect others views. You Celebrate Christmas and I should not judge you and just because you celebrate it I should not judge you. That is called Freedom of Religion and Freedom of speech.

Some Christian don't celebrate Christmas.
This is my first year for not having a tree, or
decorating for Xmas. It's too materialized.
I'm more into the Spiritual side of the Holiday. That
God sent us Jesus, and not that he's a baby.
I just say " HAPPY HOLIDAYS ". :-)

I do! You know what stinks? People will say Merry X-mas...right? Well then they say that we might as well not have Christmas because we want to take the christ out of Christmas. I don't think that way, but it led to other things. We get detention if we say Merry Christmas because it is said to "offend" people. I think we should just mind our own religion and they should mind theirs.

I have nothing against Jewish inhabitants...I just want them to mind their own religion. Not all of them are like that, I just want the people who are to stop. Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus, we let them celebrate Kwanza and Hannukah.

Actually, this country started with Pilgrims and whatever they were, I think it was Protestant or something like that. The Pilgrims were VERY against holidays. So if you want us to revert back to the beginning, we would be at church nearly 24/7 and not be doing anything interesting or fun.
