As long as it's not too boring, because a change of scenery is necessary for the movie to continue to grab the audience's attention. And I think it should be a comedy since it's probably hard to keep a straight face when you're one of the seven people crammed into an elevator. Merry Christmas!

The intro of Speed, someting of Cube... A bit of Saw II...
Not much action possible in the small space that is an elevator...
Propose that idea to an american studio. They'll hire Paris Hilton & some other dreadful & annoying actors, plus they'll make everything explode...
You have a box office winner there!!!

That movie has already been done several times in Hollywood. So either yours would have to be different or maybe you need a new fresh idea. good luck :-)

i dunno, all they need to do is you the phone to call and get them out. Unless the phone was broke. I prefe this nightmare I had when all these people were in an elevator and the wire snapped and it started spinning out of control and they were trying to open the elevator door to try and climb out unto one of the floors

If you did do it, flashbacks, or others realizing they are not where they should be, and their efforts, could allow for the change of scenery.
