Saddam was committing genocide on 100K+ people who he didn't like. There were towns without water or electricity who have it now that we are there...an article was released by MSNBC stating that the economy is now booming in Iraq...just all aroudn everything is going well there. It is the media and liberals in American who make it seem like things are going horribly.
My dad's co-worker lived in Iraq. She would tell us stories of how she remembered her town being hit by mortors because Saddam didn't like the people in her town since they rebelled against him being voted in. She then married a doctor, and he was later killed for not supporting Saddam. The soldiers broke into their house and shot him...and he died in her arms. NOONE should have to go through some Nazi regime tactic like that....and I am glad that we are over there. I am proud to be going into the military to serve my country and also ensure the world stays safe.
We are a world power, and with that comes responsibility. One of those is to make sure that people don't suffer...innocent people dont suffer when it can be helped and stopped.
Saddam invaded Kuwait, and we still didn't do anything. I am proud President Bush is in office...because he is standing up for those that cannot.
**Novacdogs apparently didn't read all that I said. Economy is better...people are happier, and they are not under the rule of a tyrannt dictator who killed anyone who opposed him. By fixing their problems, it helps everyone else in the long run. A famous quote is "We make war so that we may have peace." Noone LIKES to go to war....but when politics don't work, we go to war. Saddam invaded another country, and has been killing innocent people for over 20 years....enough is enough.

The answer is with a question. If we had not invaded Iraq, I wonder what terrorsist Osama bin Landen would have planned for his next act of terrorism in the US after the 9/11? The reality of this century is that terrorism is world wide and we fight there so we do not fight them on our homeland in the future.

Unless you prefer the terrorists to be in our country!!! They have pretty well congregated there... without taking too many fighters out of the other countries they are attempting to over-run and take over.
