have you ever called customer service and the person who answers doesn't say you're welcome or have a good day before they hang up and they just hang up?

For example:

Me: I was wondering what time the grocery store is open till?
Customer Service Person: 8pm
Me: Are you guys open tomorrow?
Customer Service Person: Uh....no..we're spending time with our families.
Me: Ok thanks.
Customer Service Person: *Clicks" and hangs up.

Another scenario:

Me: Hi, what time is the breakfast open and will close tomorrow?
Hotel Customer Service: 6am-10am
Me: ok thanks
Hotel Customer Service: *Clicks* and hangs up

Have this happened to you?

I used to answer phones but I always say "Your welcome" or "Have a good day" and we had a very busy call center.

It seems like the person inquiring for information is NICER than customer service.

Yeah, customer service can really suck sometimes.

I know you were probably trained different but you can't expect that out of everyone. Since you've worked at a call center you probably know the next action to take if you're treated like this by a CS rep.

Sorta. I once called 411 trying to find out the phone number for eye mart. I told the lady at 411 the city, state, and eye mart. She asked which one...on which road. i didn't know there were more than one eye mart. So, I told her that either one didn't matter. That she could tell me the number to both. She got frustrated. Gave me the WRONG number for either store...and hung up on me.

I was furious.

I have not because I am not the one calling but my parents are. But I believe that they do all the time. I dont think it is acceptable at all. I want to answer phones when I am older, and I know I will say 'Have a wonderful day' at the end of every phone call.

I used to work in TELEMARKETING but who don't hate telemarketers right lol. But even if they was mean and rude to me I also was like "thank you for your time" or thankyou or whatever it may be. I was always polite.

My boyfriend called walmart in his area to see if they had money gram and every wal-mart has money gram but he didnt know that bc he lives in another state than me so he was just checking so he called customer service at wal mart and asked, and HOW DO YOU WORK AT WAL MART in customer service and not know but the woman was like ummm I dont know, I don't think so. AND HE CALLED her a really provocative name "i wont say" but if you work at walmart you have to know that they have money gram BY THE WAY ITS LIKE 75 percent cheaper than WESTERN UNION!!!!!!!! TO SEND MONEY AND TO GET MONEY ORDERS!

I don't notice. I am too facinated by the fact that someone with a pronounced Indian accent is pretending his name is John and he's in Texas or something. Riiiiiiiiight.

Believe it or not, thats how the companies want it.

For instance, at my soon to be ex job, we were told not to say "goodbye" or "Buhbye" anymore and started getting written up for it! Even though where I work I talk to the same clients all the time!

This is no excuse, but it's because they're so busy they haven't got time for much extra; and because they've heard those questions a million times that day.
