Chances are that the tortise is gone. If you have looked in all of the surrounding vegetation and you still haven't located her, that means she has moved on. Try an ad in the local paper or flyers around your neighborhood. They are very fond of any type of vegetables or herbs, if a neighbor near by has a garden still (I understand it is late in the year, but there are still some herbs that handle cool weather well.) check with them.
Good luck.

Get on your hands and knees. Start searching in the most awkward corner- the bushiest or most overgrown and search it REALLY carefully. Whenever possible, blok off searched areas after you look.\
Go though rubbish or brush piles, check ANY holes or burrows, look in anything a tortise its size MIGHT crawl into- you'll be surprised how small a space it can hide in!
Hopefully you've got a reasonably secure yard. If not, start putting up some 'lost pet, reward of found' signs in the neighborhood as well!

I feel for you...my daughters Sulcata did the same thing. Living in the country lots of open space, took my eyes off of him for a FEW mins (!!!!)...they are fast. Searched for days, even tried with our trutle-loving-dog to pick up the scent..no luck.Asked all the pet stores...they said its common for people to underestimate a turtles speed and escape skills :( As cruel as it is..their new Sulcata stays indoors.

Under every bush you can find, enlist neighborhood kids and offer them a reward. Sulcata's tend to burrow alot so look for disturbed earth. She may seek out warm areas, so maybe around outdoor ventilation ducts... Good luck
