That is so individual. My daughter has 6 kids and never would do that many, just not practical even though she can afford it.
We varied when the kids were growing up. It's not the #, but I think 18 is getting to be a lot for you to do.
I read that the average for under 12 is 5 and over 12, 3. (they usually cost more). Don't remeber where I read that though, but it was this season.
Sage advise. NEVER create debt for Christmas.
Have a Merry One!

I have 3 children my two youngest ages 1&2 have pretty much all shared gifts about 14. My older son has one large gift and about 6 small gifts. We give based on the attitude, thats the story we said to them santa watches if your good or bad bad kids get coal but these days the bad kids get all they asked for so we try to bring back tradition!!!!!!!

I spend all my extra money on my 2 year old son and 3 year old daughter. They each got 300$ worth of presents. About 6 or 7 presents [really big ones] usually like at least 20 small ones like last year, six or seven big ones this

As long as you and your family know the true meaning of Christmas, and you don't have to put your house up for sale, go ahead and spoil them.
I have one son, who's 3. He is getting a very large train set, and about 5 other toys, just from his parents. He understands about helping others, so he even purchased a gift for someone else.

I got my son 2 gifts. My sister's like you though. About two years ago I decided that commercialism and hoopla were not for me.
