They didn't die; the white wizard Gandalf "fell into darkness" and was sent back to basically finish the job he started. Aragorn fell over the mountain, was badly hurt but protected by Arwen's (the pretty girl) elven magic.
Hope that helps!

The white wizard (Gandalf) was brought back from death because he pased a test, he won the battle with the Balrog wich was a shadows demon. He came back to life as a superior wizard he used to be Gandalf the Grey and now he was Gandalf the white. But the "other dude" Aragorn never died my friend. In fact he was 87 years old, because he was one of the eldest, humans that used to live more than the present generation of men. Hope that helps.

The other guy is Aragorn - he have never died, at least not in The trilogy.
The wizard was the Grey wizard Gandalf, who fall into the chasm fighting the Balrog and came back as the white wizard Gandalf.

I think they run into orcs as well as into some soldiers coming to their help and rescue, to some success. Those orcs do not leave survivors to an ailment, they discard prisoners quickly and also leave no trace of their intake, so there is the possibility they are not in danger after their rescue.
The other dude does need the wizard to defend himself that one time, he is not supposed to be a wimp, in the book he does commit to the girl, she is cute. I know everyone does like Tyler better, she is hot as well. Had to say that.

Gandalf never died, he strayed out of thought and time and fell into darkness, but he awoke because whatever higher being that J.R.R. Tolkien never specifies sent him back to finish his task, which was to win the war.
I'm assuming you're talking about Aragorn, he's the only one that i can think of that you would be talking about dying, but i think the dying incident was when the warg pulled him off the cliff in the second movie... that never happened in the book and Peter Jackson did that to build suspense and to explain how rohan was able to get warning at helms deep so quickly. Aragorn is actually half elf so during the time frame he was 87 years old and was said to live for hundreds of years...

Gandalf was sent back to help Frodo destroy the Ring. Unfinished business, you know. And Aragorn never died; his horse ran over the edge of a cliff and Aragorn got really beat-up, but he was alive at the end. Otherwise the King wouldn't have returned, and it would have ruined the Return of the King...

Gandalf the Grey was sent back by Iluvatar (God) as Gandalf the White to replace Saruman who had turned to evil . I don't think Aragorn was dead just unconscious and was revived by his horse.

They weren't dead in the first place. The one who likes the pretty girl (or elf) is named Strider.
