ok , if u do not have declorinator, u r going to have to let the water set for 24 hours. putting the fish in the bowl is easy. just place him in the bag in the water for about 20 min. so the waters can become the same temperature. if u don't have an airstone, u will have to change the water once every 2 weeks at most to give them fresh oxygen and don't over feed 1 pinch twice a day and whatever he doesn't eat in 5 min take out of the bowl with a net. if u don't have declorinator, i suggest u run back to the store and get some. i can't believe the fish people at the store wouldn't ask u these ?s so u can have what uneed when u get home. good luck

A bowl really isn't the place for a goldfish, as they put off a lot of waste and will outgrow a bowl in no time. Bettas are really the only "bowl" fish.
That said, AT LEAST dechlorinate your water..follow the directions by how many drops per gallon. Float the fish in the bag for about 20 min. before putting it intot he water. The best way to put the fish in is to get a net and pour the water from the bag out into the sink, and JUST put the fish in, as you should never really mix water from the pet stores( etc) with your own. You will have to clean the bowl every few days, goldfish are very messy. DON'T overfeed. Two times a day as much as the fish will eat in a few minutes is plenty. I would really reccomend investing in a tank..better for your fish, has filtration and will actually be less work for you in the long run.

Goldfish are the most durable, resilient creatures. You can practically toss him right in and he'll be fine. If you want to pamper him a bit, you can add some drops to the water and prepare it by getting rid of chlorine, etc. Just as long as you clean the bowl every week or so and don't over feed..that makes a mess in there....he'll be fine. You don't even need to aerate the water with pumps or anything. Just think of the ones you see at the fairs that are in plastic bags and carried from town to town. Yours is going to feel like a king compared to that.

the chemical cycal of the TANK must be set up. To put the fish in, first float the bag in the TANK so that the fish can ajust to the temperature difference(probably only a couple of hours). For more info:
p.s...fish bowls are small, and crampted
