There's no reason why you can't. Just be sure to get a urine specimen from the first pee in the morning. The pregnancy hormone that the test measures is more concentrated in the morning. Menstrual blood shoudn't affect the test, as far as I know.

When you're on your period no. It usually shows up as positive, but if you wait about 3-4 days after your period, you should be able to take a test.
I had a period with both of my kids, when I was first pregnant with them. There's nothing to be afraid of, or worry about. It's perfectly normal to have a period when you first get preg. If it lasts for more then half of your regular period, and you bleed about the same, then there's a good chance you're not pregnant.
My period would run about 5-6 days. When I had my pregnancy period, I would bleed for about 3 days, and I didn't even have to change my pad(I did though), that's how little I bled. So yes, you can still have a period when you're pregnant, and everything can be just fine.

I wouldn't because could you really trust the results? You'll only end up doing a second one anyway.
It's rare to get your period while pregnant, but it can happen. Some early pregnancy signs I had was raving strange foods I never eat, cramps ( not helpful for you, I know), and headaches.

Yes you can. I did and it showed positive. Although it does make the test a little difficult to read... ick. But, with my second pregnancy I had spotting for almost 6 weeks. (Everything turned out fine. So if you are pregnant please don't worry too much about getting your first period.)

You most likely aren't because you cannot get your period if you are pregnant, there has to be a layer of blood around the uterus to hold the baby. If you're preggy; you wouldn't have gotten your period.. next time, use a condom or some type of birth control
