relaxing ?!? i think that anyone who has young kids will have had a hectic christmas eve ! i've got a 4 year old son, and he's been totally hyper all day. i've also cooked a big xmas eve dinner for the family, and done some last minute gift wrapping. this is the first time i've had chance to sit down and relax all day. thank goodness christmas is only once a year !!! merry xmas. x

Our family had a wonderful Christmas Eve brunch at my daughter's and son-in-laws today. Then everyone went home to relax. This evening I am taking them out for dinner at the local Chinese restaurant. Then home to listen for the sound of little hoofbeats on the rooftop.

Relaxing? Huh. I've had the mother of all hangovers. My cats had managed to tip over a jar of aqueous cream (for my eczema) and trod in it through the night, so I had that to clean up this morning. Then my mum came to stay for Christmas and she and my youngest daughter were to make mince pies. Suddenly..all panic broke out. My mother had pulled the oven door off!!!
my husband managed to fix the door, reattatch it to the oven and we put the mince pies in to cook. Forgot about them so we now have two trays of charcoal and the oven door is hanging off again.
How am I going to cook dinner tomorrow?
