I seldom jump at loud, sudden noises, but I always jump when this happens. Doesn't make sense, does it?

I think it's the flash that gets me. Especially, if it's dark in the room at the time.

I know it's sorta freaky - but it's just a natural occurance and the body expects the light to come on. When instead it pops off, it "shocks" the body, causing you to jump!

actual, no. at the same time as the mild bulb burns out it cuts the relationship contained in the bulb. I jump at small sounds, and don't blink at really loud ones. It's weird.
A gun could go off and I wouldn't be responsive, but if I hear a small sound my head will jerk.
