Now that Yao is expected to miss six weeks because of his injury, are the Rocket's chances for the playoffs ruined. I mean they'll probably have a losing record once Yao comes back. Can Yao make a comeback to the playoffs when he returns. I think the Rockets are done, and has opened the door for another team.

They have a chance. With the West as packed as it is and their division specifically packed it is going to be very hard. They were playing very well even without Tmac but now that Yao is gone for six weeks it is going to be very hard. Tmac needs to come back and stand out and take control and let everyone know that he is for real and he will be the team leader on the floor that Yao was and make sure their record is good so that when Yao returns they can pick up where they left off and not depend to much on Yao so that he can heal and they can be better players and a better team. if they do not make the playoffs this year they should nextt year if everyone is healthy because they have a good team player wise.

Yao was on pace to win the MVP. That's a big blow. The Rockets currently have a 4 game cushion over the 8 place team in the west. If they can play around .500 or better until T-Mac gets back there's still a fair chance that they will be in position for the 7 or 8 spot when Yao gets back.
They really have to play sound team ball from here on out.

It'll be tough for them with Yao out. Tmac, hopefully will return sooner than later, but with the back issues he had all last season, I'm not optimistic that he'll play all games going forward. I think it's really going to depend on the play of Alston and Battier (with Wells also a factor). If Battier can continue to hurt defenses and play the kind of D he is known for, they may be okay. Alston needs to be really smart with his shot right now, I think as well. If he can get his fg% up a bit and take only smart shots, they may have chance to weather the 6 weeks without Yao.

YES THEY WILL..
Yao is out for 6 weeks.. and Mcgrady can return anytime... There still gonna win some games without Yao and Mcgrady... they still GOT: Alston.. who is playing good
Head: draining three's
Wells: Starting to become the same Bonzi wells on the Kings
Hayes: starting to score and get rebounds
they still got a good squad.. they WILL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS....
anyone who thinks otherwise can go screw themselves

Well last night YAO broke his knee and Mcgrady has a bad back and since they play in the western conference there chance are small. The GM should be fired because he didn't add a proven scorer or a good point guard. Trading Rudy Gay for Battier was a dumb move and I am a huge Duke Fan.

The Rockets are in a tough position right now. If McGrady doesn't come back soon and pick up his scoring and make up for Yao's scoring, it will be another sad season. They need more people to step up. Battier, Head, & Alston pretty much do as much as they can. They need one more person to step up, and they might be able to survive.
