Frank Loesser wrote it in 1944, and initially sang it along with his spouse. In 1948, after years of informally appearing the music at quite a few events, Loesser bought its rights to MGM, which inserted the music into its 1949 action image, Neptune's Daughter. The movie featured 2 performances of the music: one via Ricardo Montalbán and Esther Williams and the different via pink Skelton and Betty Garrett. those performances earned Loesser an Academy Award for many suitable unique music
