took pregnancy test and don't have instructions there's a vertical and horizontal line in two seperate boxes how do I know if it's positive or not??

This is a negative result. The horizontal line is another way the manufacturers came up with to help you know the test is working, and to help you get clearer results. The vertical line is the 'test line', one of the lines to let you know it's working... and so is the horizontal line. This line is supposed to represent a negative sign (-). If there were a vertical line in the same box with the horizontal line, it would form a plus sign (+). Without the second vertical line, your results are negative. Are you sure its an EPT, they have the plus or minus sign -- or the pregnant not pregnant now.. not vertical lines anymore
read the website.. they don't talk about lines

look at the ept website...it may tell you...just put ept pregnancy test in google and it should come up...
