well, it really depends on how long you've been dancing for and also how old you are. If you're in your teenage years, then you probably can, but be warned. You MUST have had a least two to three years of ballet before you go on pointe because it helps with your balance, turn out, foot strengh, the works. Also, you must be able to except the risk of dancing on pointe (I think you know what I mean.) Other than, possibly. You should ask your teacher.

Pointe work is a lot of work. It requires a lot of muscles to work hard and some that you've probably never used. Also, starting Pointe at a young age can ruin your feet or even starting off to quick or having ill-fitting shoes can have bad consequences. If I were you I would talk to your dance teacher about it. Tell her you are interested in Pointe and ask her if you think you could start. Don't get any ideas though. You will be at the barre for at least 6-8 months, just strengthening your feet and doing simple things.
If however, you do begin Pointe, make sure to go somewhere where the people their can properly fit you into your pointe shoes. If the shoes don't fit right, you could screw your feet up.

Well, it depends on how serious you are about dance. I wanted to do pointe really badly when I was dancing. I started in 6th grade, and am still dealing with the consequences - my feet are gross looking, my toenails split all the time...it's gross. I also badly damaged my knees and that was what caused me to have to give it up - had I kept going, I would not be able to walk.
But, it is a beautiful thing. Standing on your toes is so exciting, fun, and exhilarating.
I will just warn you - don't start before your feet are done growing otherwise you'll forever ruin your feet, and you aren't a ballerina until your toes bleed.
It is difficult - I can tell you that a few sprained ankles and falls afterward. It hurts, is hard to balance, and requires patience and endurance.
BUT IT IS SO REWARDING. Do what you want to - pointe is not totally bad - I loved it for as much as it hurt me.

If you take pointe, check with your teacher. you might have to take so many years of dance to do pointe. I just started pointe after 7 years of dance. It also is a lifetime commitment. People say pointe hurts your feet, but really if you have a good teacher, it's not that bad. So go and ask first.

there's no kind of dance that's really easy. pointe is difficult. if you're going to take it, make sure you have the strength to do it. your ankles, feet and abdominals have to be strong enough to allow you to go up on the pointe shoes.
you can strengthen your feet and ankles by just balancing in first or sixth (parallel) position for awhile (with no support!). or you can use a theraband, which is a long piece of elastic, usually found at dance stores. you can get different types of therabands, some easier to work through, others harder. you hold the theraband around your foot and point and flex your foot in it to strengthen your arches.
pointe is definitely fulfilling once you nail pirouettes or fouettes (sp?). but it takes a lot of work and strength. make sure when you get pointe shoes that they're correctly fitted by someone who knows how to fit shoes.

That's something for your teacher to decide. If you go on pointe too early, you can do yourself a lot of harm, and you really need to know basic technique before you get up on pointe. Don't worry about what your friends are doing. You'll get there when you're ready.

pointe is something that isnt really "hard" but it does require ALOT of work and you must have technique and strength if you want to be good at it and make sure you dont injure yourself. I think if you feel that you can be a hard worker and if your dance instructors tell you that you are physically ready ,then GO FOR IT!!! :)

It's really good and kida bad. It's good because it will help you dance better and have better balance. It kinda bad because they put like blisters on your feet and the point shoes are really expensive.
