Like someone above said John Wilkes Booth was a Confederate sympathiser who disagreed with Lincoln's veiws on slavery. He was run down and ended up being shot in the neck when trying to escape from a burnign tobacco shed

President Lincoln, was assassinated because he was hated in his day. he considerably changed most of america in his day, and nobody liked these changes. we now consider him one of if not the best president we have had, but back then most people despised him.
also lincoln said during the civil war, that if he could have fought the war without ending slavery, he would do so in a heartbeat, but he needed more supporters in the north, as well as the support of free blacks to help in his cause to bring america back as one.

Yes, he was assassinated like many visionaries who were far ahead of their time. There was a fellow named Booth who shot Lincoln death while Lincoln was watching a drama in Washington, DC.

I think it was because he was trying to reunite the southern states with the union or northern states so that they could become one nation again. But the south didnt like the fact that he was looking toward abolishing slavery. I dont know much about who killed him but he was killed shortly after the Civil War ended. Who ever killed him might have been on the side of the south.
