You could try Enforcer brand ant bait (found it at Walmart). I had a problem in our closet and put 2 close together and that got rid of the ants. I tried Raid as well and it didn't for me either. Goodluck!

Most people think that ants are after only food, most of the time they are also after water. It doesnt matter how well you clean, or keep food put away, you will have ants. The best product that I have found are liquid bait traps that are put out by Terro. The only problem, you will have alot more ants for about 3 days. They swarm to the trap. But shortly you will no longer have any ants.

if the ants are after food make sure all food stuffs are put away.
clean up any spills and empty all trash that includes food waste.
around the house, check for any tell tale signs of ants coming in from outside. in flower beds and around foundations, try granular ant treatment rather than spray, will be taken back to the colony.
a little trick to dissuade the ants from the structure, red cayenne pepper spread around the floor corners and any place you've seen the ants does work without insecticide all over.

I know this will sound crazy but I had the same problem and I got a great tip that will make you so happy. OK, here it is....cinnamon, that right, just right in your spice cabinet cinnamon. It doesn't kill them but they HATE it for some reason. I used to get them in my bathroom or kitchen even outside on my sidewalk and now they are gone and have never been back. I put some cinnamon under my bathroom carpet and around my kitchen sink anywhere they were and pooff, they were gone. I told a neighbor and she had the same results. So glad I didn't have to use a pesticide. I know this works. It's just cinnamon so it certainly won't hurt to try. The 1st time I used this I felt like I was using garlic to scare off Dracula. So where ever they are put some cinnamon down and they will be gone. Promise

Read, identify your ants--just eat sugar, or ???--then choose a non-poisonous solution or a commercial product if you are desperate. As somebody else said, clean-up and exclusion are what is needed in the long run.

I also use Terro products, but read the label. Not all of them use borax.

In Hawai'i quickly black ants have been everywhere - one room at a time I emptied thoroughly, and wiped each and every floor clean first with water, then with bleach answer. do no longer rinse rags - use clean ones, and discard them - paper towels or handi wipes are good. while it dries, the exterior is secure for pets and persons. Wipe each and every ingredient or launder it in the previous putting it decrease back! After the home is ALL wiped and laundered, spray insect repellent in corners and edges of residing house windows and doors - the kind used on human beings. in case you employ incense, pass around the perimeters of the residing house at leastr as quickly as to grant it one extra anti malicious program smell. Repeat in the event that they start to re-invade!!!

Boric acid, it is very effective when used properly for killing ants, cockroaches and most other pests.
You can also get a house lizard, they are natural enemies and will eat them.

You have two problems. Somewhere there is a food source, and somewhere there is a nest. Until you locate and remove one or both, you will have ants.

I have heard that if you put out small pieces of apple they will take it back to the ant hill and share it. It poisons them and they all die.
