For the PC, I have always been a Ultima Online fan myself. I would play on different shards(servers) and mingle with people. I was starting to be a top player when I stopped playing(no time anymore). I really like the .hack series for the PS2. It has the somewhat feel of an online game but isn't an online game. It just depends on what your comfort level is with RPGs. If you have a Sper Nintindo Mario RPG was pretty fun. :)

Which system? Any of the Final Fantasy games are good and Kingdom Hearts is really good and the harvest moon series too:
+Final Fantasy series games (GBA, DS, PSX, PS2, GC)
+Kingdom Hearts and KMH2 (PS2)
+Fable or Morrowind (Xbox)
+Harvest Moon (Ds, GBA, GC, PS2)

jk. but seriously, what never gets old is Final Fantasy. technically it's not medieval. but if you still don't buy it, try Saint's Row or The Godfather. they're almost exactly alike, just different time periods, and they both kick @$$.
