i am a Celtic Pagan Priest.

silver is the pure metal. it is thought of as clean and strong. it absorbes magick very well and it very easy to charge. and can hold a large ammount of power.

by it's very nature it will reflect negative energy from your life.

It promotes happiness and a positive energy.

It helps to heal the Aura, and to keep the Aura healthy is to keep the body healthy.

as for someone wearing it everyday. they may have it enchanted
(charged) as a protection against evil spirits or demons. it could be that they wear it to help promote good health. it could simply be that they like the shine of the metal. you would really have to ask the individual.

me, i wear several pieces of silver.

a bear totem ring that was made for a good friend of mine's father by an Apache Shaman. when he died the ring was given to me. and it hapened to come with a spirit guide that i have become very close to.

i wear a necklace with several small charms on it. (pentacle, god, goddess, Celtic knot.) and each one has a reason.

the knot will confuse any evil spirits that try to harm me. they become lost in the never ending flow of the knotwork. and it is charged as a protective shield.

the god and goddess are both charged as reserves of power to be called on in a pinch.

and the pentacle is a reminder to me of who i am and the symbol of mankind. it is charged to heal the aura.

i have some other rings that i wear because they are pretty.
and they have gained my harmonic frequency, i give them to people that need some happiness in their lives.

Silver-

A "Lunar" associated metal.
Used -vs- Vampire and werewolf.... but for different reasons.
Vampire-silver was often used as a reflective material for mirrors
This 'confuses' vampires giving you time to think of something ELSE to throw at them.
Werewolf- this hurts them and as long as it in them they cannot heal, alternately this kills them outright.

"Mystic properties"- not familiar with specific 'properties' but am sure there is something out there. Trouble is , with all this 'New Age Mysticism' things tend to get a bit garbled.

Celtic properties- The Celts valued metals for what it could DO and somewhat how nice it looked. Gold and silver 'Torcs' have been found as well as Brass. Bronze and Iron. A torc was given by someone of rank as an 'atta-boy' to someone deserving in nature. This was often something that could be given in return for a 'special dispensation' later on. The Celts did not necessarily believe that anything had 'spiritual value' due to what it was made of. The Celts placed more value in what it had been through or in many cases who had used it previously.

Native American properties- I can think of no reference for the Native American beliefs, but from what I can tell the Native American tribes felt much the same as the Celts. Sitting Bulls silver toenail clipper was probably worth more than a pure gold item found in the belongings of a war trophy.

Goth/ Wiccan properties- Who knows.... so much has been written and invented over the years about what does this that or the other...

It means nothing, except it is a little cheaper than gold. Some like silver and some like gold. Both are good investments to buy. As the price of each rises, you could make a nice profit. Other than that, mystic properties? I do not believe in.

Because of the mysticism surrounding silver's lunar associations, as well as the aesthetic qualities of the white, reflective metal that cause it to be associated with purity, silver in European Folklore has long been traditionally believed to be an antidote to various maladies and fictional monsters. Notably, silver was believed to be a repellant against vampires (this primarily originates from its holy connotations; also, mirrors were originally polished silver, and as such, vampires allegedly cannot be seen in them because they are wicked) and it was believed that a werewolf, in his bestial form, could only be killed by a weapon or bullet made of silver, and was equally effective against vampires, as described in Eastern European folklore. This has given rise to the term "silver bullet," which is used to describe things that very effectively deal with one specific problem.

Silver picks up a charge very well, and once programmed with a purpose keeps that until purified or the tarnish is cleaned off....
Gold is even better, but more expensive.
Copper does fairly well, but tends to lose the purpose it is given much faster.

Wearing it everyday allows it to be recharged from your aura, linking you to the form and purpose that the item worn has.
