Life is about making your own meaning and enjoying the ride. You can look at it as work and struggle, or you can look at the adventure, it's all about perspective. You worry about your kids, sure, but they bring you more joy than pain. Just like preparing for the real world (education, job hunting, etc) have their own rewards. When we have people and things (like careers) that we love, they are their own rewards. Nothing's perfect, but this is what we have to make the best of. Don't give up! Happy holidays.

It depends on how you look at it. Some think life is all about learning, I do, and gaining knowledge seems like a chore in school but as time goes on, if a person sees the advantages of knowledge in the sense of self improvement (and, let's face it, everyone wants to be better if not best) he/she will try to instill a learning association on the subject of life with his/her kids. Gains and losses can be controlled and, although things never work out exactly as planned, even small successes can have long lasting rewards.
To not participate in the race would mean no chance of winning, friend. We all have ups and downs, some, let's say those without the advantages of yours and mine, face problems on a level you and I could never understand being, believe it or not, gifted.
Run the race and you'll see a return. Put your heart and soul into making your children's and your fellow man's world a better place so when the inevitable end comes, and it will sure enough, you won't lie there thinking "I wish I'd have...."

Well the problem stems from society and how its role is played into our lives. This includes how children are taught and shown things all through their lives. If you really want to make a large benefit in your childs life, you must take action yourself. Don't ever expect the gov't, IE schools to teach or show your children anything, this is the direct result as to why things in this country are in dissarray.

When you have a kid, take and start educating them as early as possible. Get them to learn to read, and write at an early age. Right off the bat your kid will have huge advantages over other kids whose parents didn't take this step. Everyone is particularly fond of their kid, everyone thinks their kid is the greatest, if you think that, then show them by helping them excel in their lives.

They will have alot more oppurtunities and chances for better things if you do this. The way children are taught today is appalling, and quite sad. Kids have the most open minds about almost anything, this gives them a much greater chance of making something really good for themselves.

Technology is to blame for all the laziness these days. Cell phones for calling people anytime, anywhere you want. All these new gadgets are being made to popularize laziness, people want everything in automation, you can't just expect everything to work at the touch of a button.

Technology is spoiling alot of people who could have probably made something great of their lives, but the fact that commercials and other forms of advertising basically demand you to be a lazy bum, so you can rely on other people to get you through your life. Who to blame? The car industry, the travel industry, with each year that passes things get to you faster and faster, where all you do is sit there and wait around for something to come to you.

Hooking up to the net and pushing keys on a keyboard because you don't want to have to physically talk to someone. Ordering things online so you don't have to deal with crowds(although that's a good thing). Basically there are people doing all the hard work, the people making all this happen, and then want to charge an arm and a leg for the service. They're working hard, but their reward is beyond what it has ever been in the past.

Meanwhile they're making bankers richer, and happier because now people want to use their credit cards to buy almost anything. Without a future, without a good job, why would you put yourself in that kind of situation? So really it's not that life is tough per se, you just have to realize what's really going on, and the reason why you may think it's tough, may not be the real reason.

Take your childrens future into your own hands, and stop relying on others to make it for them.

What do you consider profit? It's not the destination, it's the journey. Make it worth your while to be here. You mentioned kids in one sentence, and then in the next say they're not worth the expense? There are many things in life that can be considered worthy of experiencing, in fact all of it. The bad experiences in the future may turn out to be more valuable than the good ones.
There's more to life than money, try earning some unconditional love.

What the point of a grain of sand? Who cares if that grain of sand is taken from the beach. Just think if all the grains of sand were taken from the beach, would we have a beach?
A person is as a grain of sand. Each individual piece of sand make up the beach as each individual person makes up our world.
Each person, though there lives may look as you pointed out uneventful and "whats the point" needs to be here to make up a society.
Every person large or small is very important. Every person effects another being, parents of this person or siblings, children, friends, co workers, the waitress at the coffee house you go to. The person you talk to at the bank, or the store, or your pets you have.
Everyone has there roles to play....

Have a great day!

I would guess that it would "suck", looking that it that way.

I not "waiting for anything to be good or bad."

Shoot, the "more crap" that I go through, the more I actually enjoy my life. I'm getting better, faster, smarter. With each new-issue, I'm learning new skills so that I don't have to repeat them again!

I have three children. But, I honestly do not spend too time "worrying" about them. I give them tools. So that when it's their time to go out into the world...they're ready.

It's all about perspective!

Good point. People have been asking that question in one form or another since time began. Usually it's along the lines of, "What is the meaning of life?"

No one has yet to come up with a satisfactory answer for everyone.

We should live because God made us to live. The purpose of living is to fully enjoy and appreciate the art of living. Life is tough but we were made to get through it, suck it up and endure our hardships. What is the purpose of life if it is perfect? Perfection is undefined and pretty boring, too. So that's why when toughies come our way, we have to suck it up and get it over with. Fight with it and deal with it in any way we can.
