Depending which way you are going, Ilminster and solstice are both open.
Ilminster is at the end of the 303 before Taunton/Honiton so is about just over half way if you're heading from the London area to Devon or Cornwall.
Solstice is about half way but there's another 2 open closer to London without leaving the A303 and heading in to towns.

Why don't you go to a local station now and fill up rather than gamble on the a303? I really don't know where the A303 is.

There's bound to be one that is open for a while, but it's not likely to be for more than 10am-3pm at the very best. Only motorway service stations have to open by law all year round. Everyone else can please themselves. It all depends if they can find a non-christian employee or someone who desperately needs double-time and wants to work on Christmas day.

Our local spar shop is open for a few hours on Christmas day. Certain other places will be as well.

My mate works for the Highways Agency. The stations *will* be open. He said you could stop in Winterbourne, Andover, Amesbury, Stonehenge to name a few.

Happy Christmas

If you use your credit card, the gas stations don't close. The stores won't be open- so you will have to use pay by pump with your credit card
