It would also be fun to see teams from the same area battle like NYI & NYR or some crazy thing, but who would you see? why? do you have faith in your choice or it would be a miracle? or maybe just a fun apperance?

I'm in San Jose, so my obvious answer would be the Sharks, for the West. However, Anaheim is playing better hockey, and the Sharks are inconsistent. If San Jose can get its act together consistently, I'd like to see them in the Cup finals, because they have the fastest team in the West.

For true hockey fans who really love the sport, the Sabres are the most exciting team in the league to watch. Their wide-open style of play, with forwards like Afinigenov and Briere, is what the new rules of the NHL are all about - to make the game more exciting and interesting. For those who have the opportunity (subscribing to NHL Center Ice), a good experiment is to watch a couple teams and see how much time you're distracted from the game. Most teams' style of play allows the viewer to read a book or focus on things other than the game, with only a little time devoted to real action. With the Sabres, there's almost always something to hold your interest. I think they're the most entertaining team since Gretzky's Oilers.

There are two other teams in the East with the potential to make it an exciting series: Montreal and, if they solve their problems, Ottawa. Although my choice is Buffalo, it would be great for a Canadian team to be in the finals.

If Pittsburgh gets its defense together, they should be really exciting next year. They have 3 of the best young players in the league (Crosby, Malkin, Stahl), and could really make some noise. This year, Buffalo and Anaheim or San Jose.

From the east, i'm going to say the Rangers. Not because they have the best team in the east, but because they have a solid team with a goaltender in Lundqvist that could get hot for them at the right time. West - San Jose Sharks. They have the most depth in the west. Strong down the middle with Thornton and Marleau, plus Roenick adds another veteran presence. Only wonder if Nabokov will be tired after being #1 goalie by himself all year for the first time. Rangers in 7, Drury with clutch goals and Lundqvist MVP.

Eastern Conf. Finals: Montreal vs Buffalo, Montreal wins 4-1

Western Conf. Finals: Anaheim vs Detroit, Anaheim wins 4-2

Stanley Cup Finals: Montreal vs Anaheim, Montreal wins 4-3, wins game 7 in overtime at the Bell Centre in front of sellout crowd.

The Canadiens will win the stanley Cup this year. They have the team for it: Best Goalie (Huet), Best Powerplay, Second Best Penalty Kill and Best Defenseman for Goals (Souray)
