I salute your efforts to learn about alternative medicine. I have a few questions first. What prompted your desire to learn? Have you had a weight problem? Is your depression part of the constant eating routine? Do you think flushing out your colon will help you loose weight? First thing, calculate how many calories your taking in each day. Second, research how to balance your meals. (Nutrition Almanac) Third, recognize that exercise makes us hungry, so don't eat more to compensate for that new level of hunger. Keep doing the yoga. Keep drinking water. The depression is a whole new ball game. That will require a completely different approach. Come back later to ask that question.

Depression is manifested both physically and emotionally. The classic physical signs of depression are headaches, fatigue, digestive problems, hyperactivity, sleeping disorders, loss of concentration, and distorted eating patterns.
Chemicals imbalances in the brain can also be either the cause or effect of depression. Dopamine is the chemical that produces anxiety, stress, nervousness, and aggression. When the level of dopamine is ELEVATED, a person may develop feelings of insecurity, paranoia, and fear. Serotonin is another important chemical in the brain that can affect a person's mental well-being.
A person with LOW serotonin levels displays mood swings, and some sort of compulsion, such as alcoholism, overeating, or being a workaholic, perfectionist, or procrastinator.
Best ways to beat depression is Diet, Exercise, Supplements or Therapy.

I'm not all too familiar with alternative medicine... however for the colon cleansing, I recommend the Master Cleanse
2 Tablespoons fresh lemon or lime juice
1 Tablespoon pure maple syrup
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
8 ounces spring water
Mix and drink 8-12 glasses a day. Eat or drink nothing else except water, laxative herb tea, and peppermint or chamomile tea. Do this for a max of 3 weeks.
