Pick up albums from any of these acts:
Orphaned Land (from Israel), Stream Of Passion (female vocalist), Green Carnation (get Light Of Day/Day Of Darkness!), Opeth (putting out some of the best metal right now, IMHO), Sikth (they're an acquired taste - similar to Dillinger's Escape Plan), Tuatha De Danaan (Celtic folk metal from Brazil - very impressive), Ayreon (progressive metal - pick up The Human Equation), and Pain of Salvation (progressive metal - somewhat similar to Faith No More, with more folksy influences.)
