Revenge will only leave you feeling as though you had stooped to his level. If you hold on to your anger you will only get bitter and he will still be having a negative effect on your life.

It is far better to maintain your dignity and move forward towards your own goals. Let go of your anger, but use what you have learned to ensure that no one mistreats you again. Make a point to not only survive, but to thrive despite your hardships.

There is a saying: "Living well is the best revenge" (George Herbert); and it means that by living your best life, you win over those who have tried to harm you.

Start 2007 with a clean conscience and a positive outlook for your own future.

First of all in making your life great, take this and use it to your advantage, this in itself will make you great. In answer to your wanting revenge, it sounds as if you yourself are a good person, do not lower yourself to this and rise above it. Getting back, as you say would just take time away from your time in using all your experiences with this relationship, you must go on and know that the wisdom you have gained will make yourself greater and that is revenge enough.

If you are confused, back off, and give yourself time to think, before you make a bad decision that could cause even more harm.

REVENGE DOES NOTHING but hurt the person trying to attempt revenge.

Don't waste your time, which is all you will do. You will waste your time, you will prolong your anger, and you will make an a$$ of yourself. Don't do it. It NEVER WORKS.

We should have world peace.
Even though I really really hate my old friends, making the world a better place is better than being the only one spared.

It really depends on what he has done to you. You didn't give details.
