There is a Jedlina... could that be it? Any idea where it is in the country? That could help us figure it out.

Try looking at the atlas on www.pilot.pl
The problem is that there are several hundred thousand villages, towns etc in Poland, and the name is quite a bit distorted. It would help to know more- some piece of history, some geography (mountains, lake or sea side) some special feature (castle? military garnison? jail? big church/ cathedral?) was it a big city, a village? what was the administrative area- "wojewodztwo", "powiat" or "gmina"? maybe some famous inhabitant? maybe a time frame- is it in today's Poland or in the "lost lands" in the east- stolen by the soviet union?
