You dont usually get a three course meal (well cooked ,usually) with everything you may wish to have on the side. It's so tempting, at this day and age so many people only get this once a year, I know I do. My parents are so busy, it's the time for my mother to really show her cooking skills too. I guess it all adds up. And then after waiting 4 hours or so for the turkey to cook, I'm starving and just want to stuff my face :D

We normally stuff our faces over the holidays because we feel comfort in friends and family surounding us. The "security blanket" allows us to feel as if nothing can happen. Also we are having such a great time that we can either get carried away or not even care anymore.

People tend to show their love by feeding each other. I know where I come from its the one time of year you can drop by each other homes unannounced and eat lots of great food you wouldn't normally cook!
...Its 5 days after Christmas and I just stepped on the scale this morning...OUCH(said the scale) :D

Because we all think the world is going to war so we stock up for the inevitable siege that never happens and end up stuffing all the food we have bought until March.

As we buy too much food expecting visitors and they have already ate and then we put things out to be polite and eat most of it ourselves. We have extra time off work and eat when were bored and have nothing to do.

I guess it's just holiday tradition, Oh and by the way, It's Christmas, not X-mas. Sure it's faster to type, But not politically correct!

Why shouldn't we? There are so many yummy treats available over the holiday. Only a dummy would pass them up!
