As a parent I would say, make them breakfast in bed. Do the dishes, make the bed and help with dinner. They will be very pleased. Money isn't that important, if it comes from the heart.

You are still in high school christmas present enough! No seriously you can make them a card and they will love it. I will just like my kids to still want to spend some time with me when they are 18.

A gift certificate with what your willing to do for that person (Mom, clean the house for a week, cook meals for a week, wash the dishes, do the laundry etc. Dad offer to wash his car, shovel the snow (if you have any), mow the lawn etc.)
Be creative and follow through, parents love it when kids are willing to help. (I wish mine were more helpful). Good luck
