i'm trying to put more music on my mp3 player, and to do that, i have to format my music into one form. so for you computer know-it-alls, which one takes up more room, mp3 or WMA?? thank you!

In computer they are the same but in the CD WMA takes more room. MP3 is better than WMA because of its sound quality.

It depends on how you encode them and how good the encoding software is. You will have to just try some tracks yourself and see which you prefer. Microsoft has managed to get WMA into a lot of devices, but MP3 is still more universal.

I ripped a bunch of CDs to MP3 at 128kbps. This is fine for most uses. If I find a situation where I need better quality, I've still got the CD I can dig out.

Just use a smaller bitrate like 128kbps and it wont matter if it is wma,or mp3...

Overall, MP3 is better...It is smaller in size on the computer, and better sound quality...
