I love this movie, and I've seen so much merchandise and stuff, but why do think this ordinary movie is #1?

Go figure...I forked out $150 so my 21 and 11 yr old daughters could see the concert...in Bakersfield, Ca, of all places, and the show was frickin SOLD OUT...and then there was another $60 spent on T-shirts from the concert, and then food there...ended up being a $250 evening...plus parking!!! My 11 yr old knew EVERY freakin' word to EACH song...and was basically in unison with every other pre-teen girl there screaming out simultaneously....I think it's subliminal messaging through the TV from Disney...like the Marilyn Manson trenchcoat mafia stuff and the Judas Priest crap from the '80's....I'll bet if you play the DVD/CD backwards Satan will pop out...

Because it has the name Disney, the Disney Channel shows it, and the Disney marketing team is behind it, parents will buy and approve of anything Disney, and Disney has the money to put out to back the stuff so they can make back big bucks. My kid is 12 and is crazy about it but has never even seen it anywhere but on Disney channel, still she wants DVDs (2 different one) sound track and HUNDRED DOLLAR TICKETS to the show for Christmas! I had never even HEARD of it before!

for youths, i've got considered many (who have not considered it, suggestions you) trash it because of the fact various females (and adult adult males, i think) are afraid of being considered as "preppy". i admire musicals and that i enjoyed the dancing. that's why i in my view enjoyed HSM a million and 2. i seem forward to 3.

It was a franchise, and Disney have enough money to shamelessly promote every piece of rubbish they produce.

umm....... this movie wasn't that spectacular. I believe that it was "popular" because it had actors and music that tweens enjoyed. and FYI, millions of kids hated it, including me. it was a joke.
