My best friend is currently just having a sexual relationship with this guy(#2). This has been going on for about 3 months. Well she cheated on her first boyfriend and that relationship ended and she started messing with guy #2. He has not asked her out. His first excuses was i want to be with you and i dont want to be in a relationship..Then about a month later he told her like the same thing, i see it lasting long term, and i havent asked because i want to respect your ex boyfriend and i heard you was messing with someone else..They have been on xmas break and he hasnt called her in 4days. I talked to a friend of his and he said he feels he truly likes her..others said they dont like him nor do they trust him..I feel like he is just pulling her along or something but im not positive..She has started to see things she doesnt really like and has talked to him and he has shown hardly no improvement..HOw should i advise her on the situation

I just answered this question, but I'll give it another go.

Guy # 2 IS NOT INTERESTED in a relationship with this girl.
He is getting sex without even having to take her out, and he knows she cheated on her boyfriend.
Basically, he does not respect her, and probably does not trust her knowing her past with her b/f.

He is giving her lip service about him 'seeing it lasting long term.'
He probably is enjoying the sex without the commitment, and that's all.

She needs to stop sleeping with him and let go this fantasy about him being her b/f. It;s never going to happen, because she started off on the wrong foot....EXAMPLE:
her sleeping with him immediately and him knowing she cheated on another guy.

Don't. Truly a person shouldn't give advice unless its asked for. The best thing you can do is be there for her by sympathizing with her & comforting her when she needs it.

My sister once talked about a friend's ex-husband & had nothing good to say about him. Problem is they remarried & she lost her friend.

Hmm...tell her your opinions and then leave it alone. She is going to do what she wants until she is ready for a change and nothing you will do or say will change that. Just pray for her and be ready to help her pick up the pieces if this plays out how I think it will.

Casually mention you do not feel he really cares for her-------then, drop it! She will never believe you, and will have to find out for herself.
