Sprinkle shredded coconut around the house to create snow.
Mirrors and aluminum foil make excellent streams and skating ponds.
Fashion chocolate licorice into fences.

Do a search in this category for some of the recent questions about making gingerbread houses... there's lots of good info in those.
Just search for the word * gingerbread *... that should bring them up.

Graham wafers/crackers are reliable development textile, there's a recipe obtainable for a house development textile made out of peanut butter, brown sugar and an egg. you combine it properly, placed it in a extensive cookie sheet and flatten it out and bake it. It is going rock no longer ordinary yet is tasty... I observed the recipe on a prior mail. yet any nut hypersensitivity victims could could desire to be warned - to heck with it use graham crackers! you are able to consistently make a rolled sugar cookie dough too. I made a gingerbread village with 5 diverse forms of dough and a cake - excitement of cooking - Eggless, Milkless, all Rye Honey cake replaced into great to make the lighthouse - I did a beach village with lighthouse, church, village, pier and a tow boat pulling a barge with Santa's presents on it.

You could always go with the elementary school style house and use a milk carton with graham crackers glued onto it. they're soooo much easier than trying to assemble a real house. if you do a real house, put a toothpick through the top of the roof to hold it together until it dries, and you should wait for the sides to dry before putting on the roof. it also helps if you put a can or something behind the walls to keep them straight and supported as they dry.
