I think the US is one-quarter of the world's total product. If that is the case then the answer would be somewhere in the $48 trillion range. Do you agree?

Yes, US is roughly 1/4th of the total, however the US is up to about $13.3 trillion now -- take 4 times that.

Its estimated to be : GWP (gross world product): $60.63 trillion (2005 est.)
GDP (official exchange rate): $43.07 trillion (2005 est.)

Interestingly as the dollar has devalued by 10% since then, it will be proportionately higher in other currencies (($43.07- $12.49 trillion (2005 est.)/10 = $3.06Trillion in dollar terms)

So in 2006 it will be about $46.13 Trillion at offical exchange rates..
