We both work full time, and I don't see why I have to do every night.
There's no reasoning with him.
He says it's a woman's job.

Does he help you with other things, he maybe old fashioned, some blokes prefer not to be at the birth because they think it's a woman's thing. My bloke didn't do the night feed but he made up the bottles and did feeding and cuddling during the day but his sleep was and is very important to him, unfortunately they don't discuss this with you when you are planning to have kids. Get him to take the weight off your feet by doing something else to help and remember the night feeds don't last forever. Good luck.

Make sure to wake him up every time you have to get up for the baby and then tell him that since he's awake he might as well lend a hand. Failing that, give him the baby to look after and go back to sleep! You could argue that you've done the child making and the childbirth job and that he's got a lot of catching up to do.

I think he is a moron and needs you to thoroughly tell him that if it were the case he wouldn't have achieved that loving bond he has with his dad as he used to change diapers and feed him often during the night. Child care is not a one-parent issue as this is a difficulty task, therefore it requires the efforts of both parents to upbring their child or children unless the mother is a divorcee or otherwise.
Your boyfriend should be helping you always and his behaviour is pathetic and he needs to grow up.

First of all because he does not have to. You gave him sex and a baby without marriage. You have set no boundrys and now you wonder why he's acting like an idiot?

Your kid will grow up screwed up if you don't draw some lines in the sand and make rules that hold up!

Tell him that if he's not going to help, then you're going to move out or break up with him, because it would be easier to raise the baby without him in the way.
It is not a womans job, tell him that it is also his child and if he doesn't want to help, then the kid doesn't need to know a father that isn't going to care for him.

why not try one night you feed the baby and the next night he feeds....so on and so forth....so both of you can have a good nights sleep....he should be sharing the feed nights with you too, so wake him up the next time the baby needs a feed and leave him to it...it's bloody hard work raising a baby, so he should do his bit too

This is not funny, cute or anything else:

First child for him?
Us lot have often never been "trained" how to do things like bottles and winding and nappies and the whole lot - Babies are small and fragile and precious - maybe he's just scared of breaking it.
I got lucky in a way - my firstborn were twins - I HAD to get involved. It's not really that hard once you get the hang of it.

At the end of the day, it took 2 of you to make the baby, so it should take 2 of you to bring the baby up!!

My opinion is that all babies should be breast fed, I assume yours isn't. I consider this a pity, as breast feeding is best for the child. I would however say that if you are not breast feeding that there is no reason why he can't help. But I'm not in full possession of the facts.
