You're really making me think twice about this guy. What's his script? I'm beginning to think he's pretty dodgy.

Ahh - ahoy and all that.
St.Nick or Saint Clause was a Polish Bishop, who knew where the profit margins laid.
He gave to the poor & needy, but collected church funds from the better off. Being a Bishop, hence the red dress.
Bless him.
I do not give much to the rich, but happily contribute to those in a bit of need.
Happy Noel !

My kids have been as good as you could ever expect of a 9 and 13 year old this year but they aren't getting anything from santa. There is one reason I am so thankful for this. After reading some of these replies, I am so thankful that my kids will never be able to look at the world like marklemoore and agroevilc.

Margaret Thatcher killed off any idea of Socialist principles in the UK many years ago. Tony Blair and his New Labour cronies carried on with the same policies. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer......quite a simple fact of life.
Even Santa is caught up with monetarism and all the misery that it entails. Until the Revolution.
Compliments of the season to you all.

Poor people are used to having less, and if they got expensive things at Christmas it would just make the rest of the year seem really bad by comparison. Besides, if they had expensive things then the other poor people around them would steal them. =O
"You're poor, Kenny. You're poor."
Edit: This answer doesn't suck. I grew up poor so I should be able to say stuff like that.

Christmas is not all about greed - it's the thought that counts. Sometimes, the smallest gifts are the most precious.

We are all born in the same way we all have the same rights.
If you sit on your fat **** and do nothing then you will be nothing.
If you try hard and keep trying you will have the same opportunity as the next man.
