Labor unions in America today have basically sunk. Many people have fought for unions in the early 20th century because of poor working conditions, low wages, and abuse of hours worked. Many states passed the "right to work" law, from my understanding its about a worker can choice weather or not to pay union dues in a union job. Well that bascially defeats the union because with-out union dues how can a union exsist. Many companies say unions have a monopoly on compaines cause they can negotiate obtuse working conditions for the working man while the company hurts in profits. With the dues the unions can spend it as they wish. Their has been new laws that have passed mandating unions and restricting unions powers. The government says they are pro union to balance monopolies on business, but if this is true why are unions basically non exsistence in right to work states. It seems most big business is not for the working man just about profits and shares going up. When they tried to unionized a Walmart in canada the Walmart shut down. I live in a right to work state and things are bascially going back how they were pre union years with lower wages, longer hours, and very poor working conditions. So, weather or not florida is a right to work state, I dont think it matters because unions have become obsolete for the most part.
