Love is the best gift they give to each other. They also give to their family something that probably not even the richest person on earth knows; the gift of Jesus as the Savior. Some people think that the material gift exchange is a pagan way to celebrate X-mas, but it's a way people show love, too. Ex.: How would you feel if someone tells you "I love you" and gives you a bouquet of roses and chocolates? Happy, right? Well, this IS the celebration of Jesus' b-day, so, a lot of people celebrate X-mas as a b-day, they buy cake, cook, and celebrate as a family the joy of having Jesus in their hearts. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!

Love, yes, it's a given. But there are many resources available to poor families to help with gifts for the children and food as well. I know that my church sets up an "angel tree" where we can "adopt" a child or as many children as we want and give specific gifts that these children want and have no other means of receiving. No child should go without a toy on Christmas and no family without food. The love should be there every day of the year. Unconditionally.

This year I have found myself in this position...7 weeks without work, serious health issues, and...no money to give. I am a giver...I would rather see the happiness on people's faces than be the receiver. When you have no money...you tend to appreciate the friendship and love your family has for you...if you have the means/food...bake or cook something special just for them...make cards from old cards, but most importantly...share your faith and your love for them. Always be intentional with what you say...and say I love you more often and always be ready to listen and not judge. Give of yourself, your time and your talents...you won't regret it.

I know somebody from my seminary days who is a Kenyan National. He said that people usually buy somebody else something like a shirt or shoes (something they really need) and give it to them before December 25. He also says his church holds a service that day, where the people who attend are given a once a year special treat of a bottle of soda, and two pieces of white bread. That should put things in perspective for the rest of us this holiday season.

"DEATH" the ultimate gift of release from the sadness and pain and tyrany of the rich and powerfull who step on them on a daily basis !, and from the cruelty that this world and the people of this world place upon one and other. love is a joke and a lie used by women to get what they want from men and to use and punish men. since eve was made from the rib of a man and ate the forbidden fruit in the garden of eden, and adam and eve were cast down into this hell from eden, man has known nothing but pain, sadness and grief, caused by woman.
