the tree
definitely, the tree (though the meal rocks, too)
We used to open our presents one at a time (taking turns), so we could see how each person reacted to each thing.
That was fun.
We're kinda wacky, and much amusement often ensued. Probably the funnest was the year we were all broke and so had a $2 limit on presents.
You really had to be creative.

Well, my family is Polish, so we follow the Polish tradition of opening presents on Christmas Eve, after Wgilia, or Christmas Eve dinner. I love this holiday!!!!!!!!!!

Putting up the tree, we do it on christmas eve when my little brother (4) goes to bed, he thinks santa brings the tree, so it's amazing to see his face christmas morning when he gets up and the place is decorated. And also going to midnight mass with my mum, we've done it every year since i was about 7, it's about the only time i get alone with her all year round and it's nice to have something all to ourselves.

The fireworks at New Year's Eve, even though it is not exactly Christmas.
I also like family meetings around a table full of staff, but sometimes they can be even dangerous if someone drinks too much.
