I think Giuliani could win New York just because of his popularity there and California too with the help of some endorsements from the governator? What do you think?

chainsaw - The question wasn't about the primaries was it? This is a hypothetical question, you know, a "what if" question.

A D - He didn't lose to Hillary. He withdrew before the election because he had prostate cancer.

sleepy - I think NY and Cali do matter. Together they are 86 electoral votes and if you want to add Texas in there too it'll be 120 votes.

That would be a tough call, particularly for NY. IMHO, CA would go Dem pretty much whoever ran -- advantage Hillary. NY would be a very tough call as both Hillary and Rudy are well respected in the state. Prior to Rudy's withdrawl from the Senate race, Hillary was slightly ahead in the polls but as we all know, polls don't always predict the final outcome.
I'm much more interested in seeing if Hillary even makes it through the primaries now that Barak Obama in seen as such a rising star in the Democratic party. Unless he does something incredibly stupid (he's young) it's going to be tough for the Clinton campaign machine to depose him without coming across as racist.

in case you look into Giuliani's previous, he isn't any sparkling slate the two. take a glance at HIS incredible marriage scandal. Giuliani's practically a democrat (in basic terms like Schwarzenegger) via the present "stolen via the conservatives" Republican social gathering, meaning he probably can no longer win the nomination. Makes it unlikely for McCain too. the two McCain and Giuliani could have an much less puzzling time getting the Democratic nomination. Gore will probably get the Dem nomination, no longer Hillary; and the Republicans will probably nominate some nut like Frist or Santorum. i could wager they nominate delay in the event that they nevertheless had the possibility. All this ends up in a Dem victory.

I think you're wrong. What exactly did he do to win his popularity? just because he was in the limelight in 9/11 doesn't mean he's a hero. He was just in the right place at the right time. Before 9/11, people in New York were getting fed up with him. Nobody else in the U.S even knew who he was. then comes 9/11 an he was made into this whole national hero figure. Its absurd!

The News Media and the Rich & Powerful here, and around the world, have already decided that Hillary will be the next president.
It's a done deal.

Guiliani never makes it out of a primary. He is way off the charts on liberal social issues.
